Firstly apologies for the lack of notes over the last few weeks. A lot if work going on behind the scenes meant something had to give. Hoping to be back to normal from now on....
Last Tuesday in the sportshall of Scoil Pól saw the first official training session for our little athletics program. With 70 boys and girls aged from 5 to15 split across two sessions, it was great to see the enthusiasm of the children involved. It is our intention to cover the basics of sprinting, throwing, jumping, middle distance and relays to give everyone the opportunity to see what areas interest them in particular. A big thank you to Scoil Pól for the use of their facilities and to the parents and club members who are volunteering their time to ensure the sessions run smoothly.
Munster Schools Indoors.
Two fantastic results saw Edd Valatka claim silver in the 600m and Peter Mc Mahon continue his improvement with 4th in the 60m sprint.
Well done to Kilfinane duo Adrian Hennessy and Lia Carr on two fantastic times of 59.07 and 1.25.56 respectively at the iconic Ballycotton 10 mile road race.
Was great to see the club represented in local runs in the locality recently, it's been difficult to keep track of all the events going on so a general well done to all our runners running the various 5ks and 10ks event. Best of luck to club runners taking part in the Lisbon Half Marathon this weekend.
Juvenile training will continue indoors for the next few weeks, Tuesdays 6.30 to 8.30. Thursday 7-8pm sees a mix of adult training and some specific sessions for our older juvenile runners. All newcomers welcome to attend.

Apologies about the lack of club notes over the last few weeks. Between the lack of internet connection and work getting the juvenile section off the ground, the time has not been there to update the site.
Our new juvenile training program.
Due to the large level of interest in the program, it has taken a few weeks to get all the details in place. Our aim is to have two training groups on Tuesday evenings, a session for 5–9 year olds girls and boys in the hall at Scoil Pol from 6.30-7.30pm, and for the following hour a session for children aged 9+
Then there will be a session at the community walkway at the Sportsfield from 7.-8.pm in conjunction with our adult training session for the older kids (10 years +).
Well done to our runners at Adare and Ballygiblin, results to follow
